Kalasalingam University is located in Krishnankoil near Madurai in Tamil Nadu, India.The campus is close to the ancient temple town of Srivilliputhur. The tower of the Srivilliputhur temple is used in the emblem of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Kalasalingam University, formerly known as Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering (AKCE), was founded by Kalasalingam and Anandam Ammal Charities in 1984. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi granted university status. Institutions declared under this section are deemed to be universities.
Kalasalingam University (KLU) is situated in a serene campus surrounded by mountains at Krishnankoil. The university is 60 km south of Madurai and 10 km north of Srivilliputtur on Madurai–Senkottai Highway. Its the biggest university in the southern Tamil Nadu and is being one of the reputed university in state of Tamil Nadu.
